Onboarding Playbook

During my time with Honeywell International, I was the Program Manager for global sales onboarding across four groups of the business. I saw an area of opportunity in how we communicated our onboarding process to sales new hires. I worked with our design team to create an interactive playbook that new hires would receive in their welcome emails on day one of employment. For the version below, I have removed any proprietary graphics, language and content and replaced them generic verbiage that can translated into any business or setting.

Moore’s Sanctuary A.M.E. Zion Church – 150th Anniversary

My father was appointed as pastor of Moore’s Sanctuary African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in 2013. The legacy of this great church, however, began over a century before. This project allowed me to sit down with the church historian, members of the founding families and current laity and present their legacy in the Queen City to the world.

Grant Proposal Excerpt

I was asked to assist my father’s church with the RFP for a grant sponsored by the Foundation for Evangelism. I was responsible for detailing why the church was a viable recipient of the grant and how they aligned with the foundation’s mission and values.

Watkins Family Legacy: His Faithfulness Continues to Each Generation

I was asked to tell the history of my mother’s family for our family reunion. My mother is one of twelve, and her father was one of nine. Sitting down with some of the remaining elders of my family – telling their story through video, word, song and photographs – was one of the great joys of my life.

Living the Brand: The Quest to Create Brand Ambassadors

This project is a generalized view of my Master of Arts Capstone Project. I researched how businesses can enhance their employee experience and create brand ambassadors. Created with PowerPoint, my hope is to use this as a basis for leadership training on employee engagement and experience and an example of my ability to research and effectively relay complex ideas and processes.

Passport to SuccessLeadership Development Program

In my current role, I noticed that many of the teammates I coached had the desire and some of the experience required for people leadership but were not being selected for the role when they interviewed. In early 2020 I began the groundwork to create and launch a program that would not only equip our teammates with the skills necessary for a promotion but also provide them on-the-job experience with people leadership and earn them in a new senior role on their team as well as place them in the “next up’ line for when new Team Leads were needed. As of June 2021, we will be launching our first round of Passport to Success! Below you will see the initial syllabus provided to participants as well as the overview provided to company leadership.

Be Your Own Coach: The Power of Self Coaching in Your Everyday Life

As a Development Coach, I work daily to help other employees use a growth mindset to increase their performance as well as overall engagement and experience in their role and with their employer. This presentation highlights the ways I encourage teammates to embrace the concepts we discuss in sessions and put them to in their day-to-day.

Strategic Communication Plan

The project presented below is a strategic communication plan for OnStar. As I endured the training and on boarding process, I recall taking notes, jotting down ideas about how it could be more beneficial. This project allowed me to explore the notes I took, compare them with organizational theory about employee learning and engagement, and create a viable plan for the company to use in the future. Completing this project taught me that I can see bigger picture ideas and narrow them down to tangible actions that lead to positive results. Pages 6-12 offer my suggestions and strategies as well as conclusions derived from the research.

Department Newsletter

I was asked by my manager to generate a monthly newsletter that would keep upper leadership informed on the progress the coaching and development team was making. The example below shows the format after employees were sent home during the 2020 quarantine.
